ART BOOK

YUKI — the name of the two Japanese artists Maki Shimizu and Yuko Chikazawa. The former has lived mainly in Berlin for several years now; the latter in Tokyo.

Despite the geographical distance, the two have been linked for ten years by their joint project „portraits of our friends,“ and over that period more than 100 woodcut portraits came into being.

This book presents them in full, partly also showing the development from sketch to finished print. Alongside this, Maki Shimizu tells the story of her shared artistic work with Yuko Chikazawa and of how the portraits of their friends accompanied her path as an artist.
